game recovery

In the details for the most recent patch there was talk about an auto backup in case your game crashed. Was this included and if so do I have to enable it somewhere? How does it work. Any help would be great.

I am beginning to have problems with crashing but before I put this in tech support.

Try this section in the online manual....

OOTP Baseball Manual - Automatic Restore Function

I have tested it and it does work...
Although I haven't had to do it for real.....

(moves right hand behind back....crosses middle finger over first....)

Thanks. The next time I opened it, the game brought it up because my file had been corrupted. It worked, just lost a month or two and an awesome postseason. It is just a game.

So now I have an incident file in the saved game folder. What is this about? Is it the corrupted file or is this what I use to report something in tech support? Any answers?

Yeah - I think it's for ease of sending via FTP if necessary to Steve/Andreas/Markus. Just zip and go. It contains the corrupted files.

I've had it happen twice.

This is one reason I have it set within my league to auto-save every game week....
It takes extra time when simming but I think it is worth it.
Also if it becomes a very valuable league I also make sure I back the lg folder to somewhere safe (good idea to even back-up to an external source) just in case

I hear you on this. I am now saving once a month(thinking about once a week). I also backup to an external hard drive, then every once in a while I zip it up and send it to my file hosting website in case my external gets wacked out. I guess I am kind of intense about it butwhatever.

I once lost an entire season plus a championship when the league crashed the day after the World Series.

I back up on a real-life daily basis and save to an external drive every league year.
