for online leagues it would be a handy tool to have a notes section just to keep track of thoughts on players to keep your eye on or whatever else comes to mind.

Online or not, while it's a tad cumbersome, I currently use the player's history section to add these notes. Being forced to add the date of the comment ends up being helpful in the long run and is conveniently right there with the player, especially with regard to development notes. That being said, a Team Journal of some sort would on my "that's kinda neat" list. I prefer the notes right with the player, however.
