New MAC customer: can't launch game

I have downloaded the game and run the installer but when I click to launch the game, nothing happens. Am I missing step? I have yet to pay my money, but have not yet been prompted to. Looking forward to getting started - anyone have any suggestions?

Need more info. Are you saying that when you double-click on the OOTP application, nothing happens? If so, describe what you see in the OOTP folder. What does the OOTP application icon look like.

Execute the command to start the game from the terminal window, and provide the messages you get.

Question App folder

Correct, I double click the icon, it briefly flashes in my dock and then just shuts down. To answer you question, in my App folder, I have a folder called data, two .txt files and an OOTP10.app icon. What am I missing?

Don't know. If you understand Ray's advice, you could try that. Otherwise, I'd be inclined to do a reinstall. Trash the folder, then download and reinstall again. There are some hidden files that are placed in your User Folder. If you know how to find hidden files, you could check to see what's there. Sometimes there are problems getting those installed, though there is usually some message about that. I assume that you are attempting to install to the default location (not required, but it would be useful to know for sure). It may require a trial-and-error process to figure out the situation.
