Expansion not working

As I read through I thought I was going to get an answer because I am having the same issue. However, the thread got closed as the person who reported it seems to have just started over.

Whenever I try to expand the game simply locks up and never comes back. I had to "hard close" the game and when I open it back up, I am back to where I started (pre-expansion).

Any help would be appreciated.
