I have scanned the forums but have not found a very good thread on 9 vs 10. I do not need a run down of the features as I can read the web site for that. I want to know the following. I own ootp 2007 the SI version now and I am a very casual single player who plays a fictional universe modeled after MLB. I manage a team at the major league level and play out each game. Specifically I think I use Icy's mod.
Which version of ootp will give me the best / most challenging single player fictional game with the least amount of headache 2007, 9 or 10? A few words of why you think so would be nice too. ![]() Last edited by kg_norad; 08-11-2009 at 12:29 PM. |

What headaches are you having now?
No one can tell you which will give you what you want. Some people load up OOTP X and have no problems at all, some have problems. Same as every version. Best thing to do - download the Demo's and try for yourself to see which you like the best. |

No headaches really. I tried to DL ootp 10 demo the other day but the DL is REALLY slow. I am not sure what it is about that file but it slows my internet connection down to a crawl.
That is why I was wondering if any single player, players had a favorite. Honestly if the game was doing anything wonky I probably wouldn't notice. As I said I am a pretty casual player. Just wondering what the consensus was as to which one people liked most. I do not want people to tell me which I will like. I want to know which one they liked the most. |

I like OOTPX. The AI seems better to me, specifically the use of pinch hitters/runners.

The play-by-play in OOTPX is WAY better than the one found in OOTP9. So if you're managing your games then it's definitely worth it to upgrade! Not to mention the widgets if you have a big enough computer screen (which sadly I do not).

I also have the 2007 version and version 10. My vote is for OOTPX. The new pitching model is a major improvement.

I'd vote for X. The improved play by play and widgets make playing out games better for me.

Also, it was mentioned that they are working on the slow download speed problem. |
