Trading Financials
I'm running the Cincinnati Reds with the real life rosters that came from the game.
As the Reds are wont to do (except this year) it's that time in the season when they start trading established players for minor leaguers. Whenever I try to trade an expensive veteran, I get a note about adding to the player's expenses or words to that effect? I understand this to mean that the cost of the salary will be added to my expenses, which sort makes trading to cut payroll a bad idea. Am I reading/interpreting that note correctly? Thanks. |

No. If you're trading him away, the new team takes over his salary. If you are cutting him, you pay the remainder of his salary. I can't say for sure without seeing what screen you're talking about, but I am assuming you're misreading the note that says you expenses will change when you trade the guy away. They should drop (unless you are taking on more salary than you are moving) rather than go up.
