"Invalid Password" error while trying to license, now game will not start
Here is a link to my previous thread, which was closed just now as I was posting a reply (less than 3 days after the last post).
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...not-start.html Also, it's a bit frustrating having my support requests closed twice with no solution after 3 days, when it has routinely taken your support staff a week or more to post their replies. In response to "Battists"'s last reply to my original thread: Quote:
I appreciate the attempts to troubleshoot the problem, but it has been 2 months since I purchased and I have been unable to launch the game once. How do I go about canceling my license and getting a refund, please? |

Looking back at your original thread it says that you have already uninstalled/installed many times.
When doing this have you had Zonealarms totally disabled? (i.e both as a firewall and antivirus) It sounds like a file may have been corrupted by the original error. It's also possible that the uninstall does not remove everything. One of the files left behind may be the corrupted one....which may not get over-written on the next install. Or may still be corupted again if the antivirus is still running. I also have XP SP3 and Zonealarms (but only as a firewall). Not experienced any problems with installing patched version 10.2.16. But I always disable/close down my firewall/antivirus programs. Have had a few problems with software installs in the past (not OOTP though) If you are still having problems then we could try a normal uninstall and then manually deleting the "forgotten files" (before installing once again with firewall/AV disabled). Depends on how confident you are with a PC. If you're quite good with your PC you may be able to find the files anyway. Last edited by SMFXR01; 08-02-2009 at 08:37 AM. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried uninstalling the game, deleting any OOTP-related files I could find in the Program Files and My Documents directories, even deleting any OOTP registry entries before reinstalling. Still after reinstall the game fails to launch. All of this was done with firewall and antivirus disabled.
