No Starting Pitcher Found! Crash Bug
On 7-27-2020 (in the game), when I finish the day or try to sim past it, I get an error message that says "No Starting Pitcher Found!" I hit the Okay button and then get an error message that says "NO STARTING PITCHER!". I hit okay on that one and the game hangs for a few seconds and crashes. I'm on a Mac and I'm playing in fictional mode, using the latest patch. When does this error message usually spring up?

I'd be happy to send you my files, if it would help. Anything to get my league back!

I am having a similar problem with my current game as well. Up until this point, OOTPX has been working excellently, but in this game, every time I get to April 26th, 2010 the game does the same No Starting Pitcher!/NO STARTING PITCHER! error. I'm playing on a regular PC, not a Mac, so it's not a Mac specific problem. I also have the newest patch installed.

I guess I should also point out that I have no game on that date either, and I've tried:
- resigning and simming past - deleting all games that day at the major league level I still get that error, regardless. I'll be fooling around with it for the next hour, and if I find a solution by myself, I'll post it to help others. |

I have to say the "ignore it and hope it goes away" approach that these folks take to fixing bugs here is disappointing. |

1. Okay, so the first thing was went into the "Play games from the league schedule" tab. 2. Then I went to the day after the "broken" day, and clicked to autoplay until selected date. In this tab it'll sim all the games, and eventually it'll freeze on one and the "No Starting Pitcher!" thing will pop up. 3. Write down the league that the particular game that is stuck in the background. 4. Close the game, and start it back up and load everything again. 5. Then, you need to go into the Game Setup screen, click on the League Setup tab, and select the league that you wrote down. 6. Click the Edit League Schedule button, and then select the day that's "broken". 7. Delete all the games for that day. 8. Go back to the "Play games..." screen and try the same thing as before (step 2). If it goes past the day, your in the clear, if not, write down the league it freezes on this time and repeat steps 4-8, only this time delete the games on that day from both leagues. Repeat until it doesn't error. I had to Delete three leagues worth of games till it worked, but I haven't had a problem since, and I've simmed about three months afterwards. Sure, does it suck to lose games in leagues? Yes, but it's better then having to restart everything. If you have any questions, or if anythings not clear, just reply here, and I'll try to clarify/respond. Let me know if it works for you aswell. Ya, you would hope their tech support would be faster, especially since you seem to have been waiting a long time, but I think the fact that it's summer probably has a bit of a factor to play in their slowness. Hopefully this works.

I had a similar bug occur in a league I was putting together, and after much experimentation I found that there was an all-star game scheduled for a league that didn't have more than one subleague. It took quite a bit of experimenting, but I eventually rebuilt the schedule in such a way that the all-star game was gone.

This fix worked! And it happened to be a minor league All-Star game. So... I deleted the All-Star game scheduled and disabled All-Star games for that league. I'm humming along again. Thanks!
The official line of "It must be your computer, we don't make games that have bugs" was a load of crap, I knew. You guys helped me fix the problem and I'm glad!

No problem. I figured that it might be awhile till you heard back, and it just took a little bit of tinkering on my part to figure out the problem.
