Weird Thing With Template...Reimporting Historical League, Need Help

So I have a league currently running, but I kind of want to start over. However, it's a historical league with correct minors and I don't want to have to go through the process of creating the minors again.

So what I did was save the world as a template and then go to the create custom game screen. I loaded the template and then deleted the major league. I then added the 2001 historical league again. Everything seemed fine. I started the game and re-affiliated the minor league teams with the Major League.

Now, the problem is, I go to look at the rosters and players are missing. For example, the Orioles only have 12 players and there are repeat players on some of the minor league teams. Even combining the minor league teams and the major league teams there are still players missing.

What gives? And if nobody can figure that out, is there an easier way to accomplish what I am trying to accomplish?

I may be able to help with what happened, but I am no help on fixing it.

In your original league some major leaguers were sent to the minors. When you kept the minors but re-added the majors, those players were duplicated, now they have been sent to the minors again causing duplicates.

As far as why your teams seem to be able to demote to the minors but not promote others out, I have no idea.
