GM of newly created team

Hi. Need some guidance. Not sure how to do this......

I want to start a standard 2009 mlb game, with current players but then create a new team to manage in the NL central.

Comm mode is on and I know how to create the actual team. But do I need to start unemployed in order to then become GM? And how do I become GM of this team?

Also if I don't want to fill roster with fictional players or free agents, what exactly will the expansion draft do?

If you are in commish mode, you should be able to go to available jobs and your team should be there. Apply as Gm and you should be set.
