I am new to the game and have a few questions. I just started a MLB season with the rosters that came with the latest patch, how up to date are these in terms of the minors? Once I start a season is it possible to update the rosters? Once I get to the draft is there a way to upload a file with real life players that were drafted in this years draft?

If you just bought the game, you should have the latest version of the roster. The minors should be correct, but the rookie draft class only has one or two of the biggest propects. There is no way to update the rosters once your season has started, buit unless you have disabled trades and injuries your rosters aren't going to stay like the reals ML ones for long anyway.

As for the draft class, I don't believe that there is any way to upload a new list of draftees short of waiting for the draft class to be announced and then editing each player to mach the RL draftees. This would be very tedious and probably there is not enough info to get them anywhere near real talent levels anyway.
