Quick questions about Rookie Leagues and the Amateur Draft

Hello,

I just started up with the new patch (Pirates), and I am using a 50 round amateur draft with college and high school feeder leagues supplying the draft.
I noticed that the AI is not keeping enough players on their rookie league rosters, and enough pitchers on every minor league roster. Additionally, the ERAs and batting average, OBP, etc. of the rookie leagues are extremely high.
I have three hundred teams in my combined feeder leagues now, as that was about the right calculation to supply efficiently.
Can anyone possibly give me some help as to the AI and the draft? Should I trim the draft?
If someone could help, I would be thrilled. Thanks, in advance.

BTW the game is awesome!!

Hmmm . . .

let me be more specific:

30 Major League teams need 25 players for their rookie league teams (Rookie League + Short Season A). This makes 50 incoming players for each team - hence, 50 rounds. That makes 30 x 50 = 1500 players. 1500 + 300 (desired number of minor league FA) makes 1800 players. 300 (feeder league teams) x 6 (players going into draft) = 1800 players.

The game system is not flawed; it could be my math. Please help, someone.

Are you accidentally using ghost players?

It might be expedient to slick the 'use incomplete minors (ghost players)' in the Game Setup menu. That way you wont have to worry about this.

Thank you for the responses.

No, I am not using ghost players. However, my first draft did not contain the proper number of available players. I wonder if this is the cause.

Do any of you have any other suggestions as to what it might be? And why the inflated stats?

In the first couple years of feeder leagues, they do not supply the nominal amount of players you would think. In my experience, the first year is usually very short (like 25% of what you would think). This might be what you are seeing. For this period, I would recommend just turning on the option to create additional players for the draft to make up for this short coming.

After 3-4 years, you should start seeing closer to 6-7 players per feeder league team.

After the draft, I did a quick "populate with fictional players" for the rookie leagues. Seemed to fix the problem, as well as populate the free agent list with crappy players the AI drops. Should only have to do this once, since I checked and my next feeder league "class" will be easily big enough to handle my 30 round draft.
