BZ 3264: Problem with 7-day Lineups and Rotation

i have copied the following below from a question in OOTP9's forum. it appears to have never been resolved.

my online league still uses OOTP9, and this was a tremendous pain in the rear to deal with. any change in the rotation resulted in an incorrect rotation when using the 7-day lineups. 11 of our 12 owners use the 7-day lineups, so this is significant. the most common error was a pitcher starting in back-to-back games, where he would be exhausted at the start of the second game.

the question here is...is this addressed/fixed in OOTPX? it was not in OOTP2007, so i'm not sure why it showed up in last year's version. we LOVOE the game, but this has really been difficult to over-look for our rude owners.

thanks,

"Problem with 7-day Lineups and Rotation?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have noticed on many occasions that my pitching rotation is getting screwed up when using the 7-day lineup. My pitching rotation is set to strict lineup and I use 7-day lineups. Many times, I will start a game, not realizing that I started a different pitcher than who was scheduled.

I realize that in order to have any change take affect, whether it be a batting or a pitching change, I need to go to the 7-day lineup screen and and click the auto-fill. But it still seems to get out of whack and not stay on the strict rotation schedule while my batting order remains the way I want it.

Anyone else see this? Or is this a case of "user error"?"

I've experienced the same problem in v.9 and v.X. As soon as the 7 days is up it reverts to using the less fatigued pitcher (I believe that's what it's doing), regardless of what settings you have in your pitching page. I agree with you a big pain if you just want to sim for a number of weeks. I'd love to know if there's something I'm missing!

Hi guys,

Thanks for your post, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The first few weeks are always pretty busy around here!

I'm having a little bit of trouble following this scenario. Are you saying that with strict rotations, the game always messes up after the first pass through the 7 days?

Or, is it only when a change in the rotation occurs? I will try to reproduce this issue, but if you can you set up a precise scenario in which this occurs regularly, it would go a long, long way to helping this issue get resolved!

Also, there is a setting in the 7-day lineups called "Sit starting pitcher if tired." Can you tell me what that is set to?

I definitely think there is SOMETHING going on, because through messing around I was able to auto-fill a 7-day lineup that has the same pitcher on successive days.

Hmm, I logged this as BZ 3264 and asked Markus to take a look, but I'm still not able to reproduce the issue, which will make it very difficult for Markus to fix.

In my case, even though the 7-day lineup showed the same starter for 2 days in a row, when I actually simmed, it did not pitch him 2 days in a row.

Again, any information you could provide that would let us reproduce this would be great.

Markus took a look at this issue, but has not been able to identify or resolve this issue. Some issues can arise from the 7-day lineups due to injuries in the rotation. For now, the best we can do is to recommend that managers review the computer choices for the 7-day lineups/pitchers before simming.

I'm sorry we couldn't do anything more with this one.
