Options with runners on 1st and 3rd
If you have runners on 1st and 3rd and you call a "run and hit" or "hit and run," I assume that you can't have the fellow on third stay put while the runner on 1st goes. Is that true?
If so, this makes it hard to steal second with 2 strikes on the batter, because it is my understanding that the batter won't swing on a straight steal. For example, with an 0-2 count and runners on 1st and 3rd, I should be able to send the guy on 1st, give the batter the green light, and tell the guy on 3rd to stay put. That way, if the pitcher throws a ball, you can steal the base. |

I don't think I've seen the runner on third move on a run/hit/hit/run combo.

OOh, that would be good news. I wonder if others might confirm so I don't get fired after an unintentional caught stealing at home.

I have never seen the runner on third go either, he always stays put. I dont think I have seen the catcher throw it away either while the runner is on third.
