One of my players went from Very Popular to Unknown

Did everyone get amnesia?

Over what period of time did this happen? Did his ratings or stats see a sudden decrease?

I noticed it during the off season and yes he declined (right after i gave him a big contract too, argh)

but he still shouldnt be "Unknown" -- he is known lol

Unknown is perhaps misleading terminology, but basically it means that the player isn't good enough for your fans to care whether or not he gets traded or re-signed, etc. Make sense?

yeah it does thanks!

Maybe they should have an Unpopular or Hated -- would be cool if a players loss of popularity would effect their morale too

I do believe their is an unpopular, but its not very comman. Kind of like in the Major Leagues!

The unpopular rating (or whatever it's called exactly) is used when a player tests positive for steroids.
