MLB Expansion

I'm currently creating my own 2009 roster pack for OOTPX and plan to implement it once I'm done. I want to simulate out 2009 and go into 2010 with 2 expansion teams to make MLB with 8 division champs (4 divisions in each league, 4 teams in each division). Much like the NFL does, only I don't want any wild cards (pennant races are much better). I'm just wondering if this is feasible for scheduling and AI reasons and how I would set-up the changes after the 2009 season. Want to take over one of the expansion teams from scratch and see how long it takes me to make them a winner with house rules so the AI doesn't mess up too much.

Easily done. First, make sure you are in Commissioner mode.

Sim to the End of Playoffs in 2009. Go to the Game dropdown menu, then Game Setup, League Setup and Functions. Select Expand League & Expansion Draft. Name your teams, put them in any random division and hit Expand League. Then go to Edit League Structure, move teams around, rename 'em, add divisions, whatever you want to do. Then, most importantly, remember to generate a new schedule.

Do not forget to generate a new schedule.

After that, you should be all set.

Any ideas how these 2 new teams are located?

Are here any "real" ideas of expanding the AL to 16 teams?

Post Cities?

Possible cities: Las Vegas (cha-ching!), Charlotte, New Orleans, Honolulu (great for recruiting...), Vancouver B.C., Portland ORE, Edmonton or Calgary (bring a dome!), Omaha (good link to college bball)

Not necessarily the most realistic (yeah, what stays in Vegas...), but a couple are probably objectively good candidates.

Vegas... which means stats and records for 81 games wouldn't be available.

"How did Vegas do this year?"
"We don't know... nobody will talk about it..."

I've always stuck one team in Portland. My second expansion team gets moved around.
