Thumbs down Think i might be pissed (involves preorder)

Ok... I get an e-mail saying to preorder and get the game etc... go to google and search for Out Of The Park Developments, and get to the homepage (Preorder Out of the Park Baseball 10)

I spend the $39.99 thinking its the preorder w/ the 2 day early advance..

further research I see the forum seeing it ended may 27th if i saw right, and the preorder was $29.99.

Really messed up and really bad business that the order page says its preordering when hidden in the forum is that the preorder is already over.

So now I have no clue on what I have.. do I get it 2 days early but still paying the 39?

Im pondering cancel just in spite... Ive been around since ootp6...

just hoping someone can clear this up... ill be happy if I get it 2 days before it goes on sale... if not, ill stick with 9

The 27th was the preorder and get two days early and save $10 deal.
Now is the preorder and get two days early deal.

No foul here.

Ok, I was just realllly confused between the site, and reading these forums.

As long as I get the game early, I don't care what I pay honestly... 2 days may just be 2 days to most people... But I live, sleep, and eat baseball...well, not really, that would hurt.

According to the page you've linked to .... "Preorder OOTP 10 now for $39.99 (€39.99 for people living in the European Union). If you preorder you will get the game 2 full days before the official launch!" So it appears that you've paid full price for the game (as the discount ended on May 27), but since you've still pre-ordered you'd get it two days ahead of the general public. That's the way it looks to me, anyway.

According to the front page as of now (Sunday) it still says save $10 and receive the game 2 days early.

Wednesday, May 27th will be the last day to pre-order OOTP 10! The game is scheduled to be released in the first week of June.

This is your last chance to save $10 on the price of the best baseball simulation out there!!
The use of the present tense in the second paragraph is potentially confusing, I suppose.

Also in the big red attention getting box it says nothing about the 27th. That could be confusing if you used that link to pre-order.

I have contacted this person directly.

In general, the comment above is correct: at this point you still get the game 2 days early, but without the $10 discount. But you're right, there are some confusing banners remaining. I'm trying desperately to get those cleaned up, but unfortunately I don't have the access to do so myself. I hope to have it straightened up by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Steve

Ah, the banners, yes. This is actually, like, a thing that people could legitimately and justifiably be annoyed about. Where's dashby when you need him?

Tell all the people of the world to buy OOTP, then we'd have enough money to hire more people. As it is now, during times like these (crunch time) we are so swamped with work that mistakes happen. We're only human as well.

Yup. The final test build goes out to the testers today. So if nothing major happens with that, it'll get released to the preorder guys in a couple of days.

Lies! We know you aren't human, Markus. You're clearly a sophisticated AI programmed to replicate human intelligence. This entire thing is merely a complicated advertising campaign by MLB.

Yeah, there's still a big banner on the forums that says save $10 and get it 2 days earlier. Surely they own the space and can remove an image?

Thanks Markus! You have a change-up that's 20 mph slower than your fastball with the same delivery - in other words - YOU DOMINATE!! Woo-HOO!!

I'd say keep the 10 bucks and send him some free stuff, like a disc back-up of the game and a box of candy.

I want to keep OOTP rolling, so I usually don't even bother with a pre-order. Then again, I'm playing OOTP 9 until next year, when OOTP 10 will be brand new for me. Ain't I strange?--but hey, aren't all people who stay tucked away in some back corner room replaying the 1912 World Series?
