OOTP X Manual?

One thing that I dug about OOTP 8 was that the manual was out before the game. Well, I remember that to be the case. I may be wrong, I have been known to overindulge in memory-erasing substances. Will there be an online version of the manual available soon?

On the corpse. My question is...
No, my question. I get to go first. Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on corpse?

The game will be out soon....

The bigger question is, will there be a downloadable PDF version. Live online is nice until you're playing on a stand alone.

The manual for 8 wasn't out before the game as far as I recall.

Yeah, obviously with them being so tight lipped about X, I wouldn't expect the manual to be out first. I did like spending my lunch breaks for a week reading about every little facet of the game and taking notes in notepad as to which part of the manual to reread when I got to certain points of the season.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think a downloadable manual is probably a huge pipe dream.

Umm, they had 1 person, same as now - battists.

That and the fact that a lot of things don't need a lot of changes should make it easier to put out a manual. Take the manual from 9, update it to X and release it.

I don't mind not getting a printed copy of a game manual, but not having any type of hard copy at all is frustrating.

OOTP 8 was basically a re-release of OOTP 2007. Thus I'm sure they just had the same manual, which was already complete.

Which is exactly my point, they have a complete manual now, the basics are there, just update and add the new features.

It's a great theory but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm pretty sure you mean "soft copy" here, but I know what you mean. FWIW, I really don't think we're gonna see a manual for v10.

I'm not saying there won't be a manual because I really don't know one way or another. I'm just guessing we won't be seeing one.

I doubt they will have one. When they created the one for 2007, Steve was pretty much working full time here (or overtime) and Mark Duffy was still here working the message boards. This year with SI gone and Steve is here only part time at best, I really doubt we will see a manual outside of the game. If there is anything, it will probably be in the area of a in game help system.

For the most part, wouldn't the downloadable PDF for version 9 still be quite usable for newbs like me?

I don't think version 9 had a pdf manual. it was just online. Without seeing the new version of the game, there is no way I could answer that 100%. I would imagine that the OOTP 9 (or even 8) manual could help a new comer with the basics.

I just looked and you are right. The downloadable PDF file called ootpb9_manual.pdf actually says Out of the Park Baseball 2007 when you open it. That's a bit misleading.

Someone (Mike R?) created a PDF version of the on-line manual for 9. It's available at Padrefan's website under misc. Maybe he'll create one for 10 once the on-line is available.

That what I was about to write kcroyalgm. The one for the version 9 is as complete than the 2007 one.

Which should give us some clue as to if there will be an updated manual for v10.
