Invalid height unit crash
Does anyone have any ideas about the fixing following error that leads to the game crashing?
I'm playing on a Mac (Mac OS 10.5.6) and have loaded the newest version (ootpb ver. 9.2.13). I start the game, start a historical league from scratch (no modifications or customizations), and the database loads. However, as soon as I try to examine my Team roster, I get the following error message: "UTILITY_FUNCTIONS::get_player_height_string - invalid height unit" If I hit the either the Help or OK buttons, the entire program locks and I have to hard reboot I apologize in advance if this is a logged problem, I've reviewed the FAQ and tried several forum searches and have not found this listed (maybe I'm using the wrong term). If anyone has any ideas, I'd be extremely grateful. |

I haven't heard of this one, no. What happens if you try to start up a fictional league? Same issue?

Thanks for responding
Nutlaw, thanks for responding.
Ok, I get the SAME error message with fictional leagues but the program does not crash and I can exit out of it. It happens if I click on any player, manager, or even the Scouting tab - go figure! Also if I try to load the 2008 league and try to click on any player name, it the get same message and the program also locks requiring a hard reboot? Any ideas? Thanks |

Did the game ever work properly for you at any point? If so, you might wish to try a clean install.

Clean Install?
Ok, I'll give it a try. I gotta search the forums to figure out how to do one. But I'll let you know.

Ok, no luck.....sigh
I deleted the main folder in the Applications file.
I deleted both the OOTPB folder and the Out of the Park developments folder in the Documents file. I reloaded the game and it still had my old information in the program (for example it still had "New Game 7" as an option), instead of "New Game" etc. And I still had the same problems "Invalid height string", etc., etc., etc. I assume I'm missing some data folder on my drive that I need to delete. Do you have any idea what it might be? Thanks |

No, I have no idea, particularly on a Mac.
If it still had New Game 7 as an option, then your saved games were kept. Can you try deleting your default.lg folder and reopening the game? |

default.lg?
Well, as far I can tell, I've deleted every file related to the game. Re-installed the program several times and still - squat. Any ideas?
