Player Editor: Adding a position for a player.

I was trying to edit an OF to also have some skill at 1B. So I changed his infielder ratings to be similar to his outfielder rating but gave him less experience at the position, about 66% as much experience as he had at the OF positions. But his rating at the position is extremely low. On a 1-100 rating scale he was like a 50 something rated OF but his 1B rating was like 4. What am I doing wrong?

his rating will improve as he gets experience, the important ratings are range, arm and error. i have learned to mostly ignore the overall rating.
