Creating HTML Reports

How exactly do I create the online reports for an online league? I've tried everything (checking everything off, doing "full" reports that aren't recommended for online leagues, etc.) yet none of the league index pages or player pages are generating. I remember it being much easier in the past, but maybe I'm losing my mind.

I'm going to move this to the Commissioners Corner forum where it will probably get seen more readily.

It's pretty straightforward. Run the option to generate the reports and upload them to your web page.

I generally use the option to create the reports and have the system put them in an archive, then upload the .gz file to my web site and unzip it there. Makes uploading faster.

I knew how to do it, as I used to run older OOTP leagues as well. Issue was the folder I was directing the files to (on my hard drive) wasn't generating the files. I uploaded them to the server and it worked.

That's weird. Did you ever find out why it wouldn't generate them to disk?

They have to be on disk first, before they're uploaded. My guess is that they are being generated and put in a place unknown to the Commish. I couldn't tell you where reports are first created; I've been running a v9 league since August, and I don't know where the reports are originally generated; after I create reports, I use the in-game "copy reports to folder" command to relocate the reports to a place where I can get to them easily. I'm not sure where they are, to begin with.

I thought they all went to the news/html folder under the league you were working with.

I might be mistaken, but I think that those are reports generated for your in-game use, and that reports specifically generated for an online league are put somewhere else. I was under the impression that there were, thus, two parallel sets of html reports.

If you go to the Online tab under the Game/Game Options menu, then click on the Create/Upload League Reports button, there is a space there that allows you to specify where the tarball goes when it's created.

I was mistaken, Solonor, you're right about the reports being in the news/html/... folders.

I was trying to make things more complicated than they were. But when you ask the game to generate a report, while you're playing, it will also deposit the newly-created report into this same directory. So all the reports in that folder haven't necessarily all been generated at the same time. I'd seen that, and it was throwing me off.

Yeah, I had them designed to go into the league news folder, but something wasn't working properly. I'll just assume I put them in the wrong destination.
