Major League Off-Season Events

Even though I've played the game for quite a while, I found myself wondering where the awards were during the playoffs in my league this season. The batting title had been handed out, but I couldn't recall just when I'd see the equivalent of the Cy Young, etc...

So, FWIW, here's a link to MLB's offical calendar (at least for this year). OOTP, it looks like, is pretty close. I'd sure like to see that Manager of the Year award added to the game though.

eg, if I understand your question, you click your league button on the menu bar (labeled with the initials of your league, like "MLB"), select News, then click the League Events tab. See also the option box to List Minor Awards on the right of that screen.

Edit: I found that the awards of which you speak were not listed until after the playoffs ended in my test game. See below.

I don't like how Winter Meetings aren't included with Free Agency off.

I didn't even know they were IN the game until someone told me when I suggested they should be in there.

did the league historially hold winter meetings in the pre-free agency era? in any case i don't see what difference it makes other than a cosmetic one.

Yes. The Rule 5 draft was usually held during the meetings, as well as votes on various rule changes which affected both on-the-field and off-the-field areas of the sport. If you go through issues of The Sporting News from earlier years you'll find a lot of coverage of the winter meetings.
