Newest update available with the old compilor?

Strangely enough even though my computer runs WinXP service pack 3 OOTP only runs on it with the old compiler version.

Is that available for the latest patch?

Alternately what files is OOTP looking for in the XP operating system. If I knew I could make sure they are loaded.

Thanks

Notice you are asking one to upgrade to 9.2.11 before posting bug but I reiterate 9.2.11 is non-available with the older compiler and therefore one cannot upgrade.

If you know what needs to be loaded/updated in XP for your new compiled version to work it would be much appreciated if you shared that information in a caring and sharing manner sharrifically speaking. Please.

Spritze,

Does the game start up and crash when loading a league or before that? It's just that there's another thread with someone using XP SP3 that is having problems with 9.2.11 but they can load a game and it crashes at 100%

Here is the error massage

I get this error message on both SP2 and SP3

If I knew what to download to become compatable I would do that.

what the previous message might mean.

If an exe has both internal and external manifests, then:
- On Windows XP, the internal one is ignored and the external one is used. So, if the external one is bad or missing dependencies, then, you get the problem you are seeing.

Spritze,

Please try this:

- locate the ootp9.exe in the OOTP program directory (should be in c:\program files\ootp dev\ootp baseball 9\)

- rename the ootp9.exe to ootp9.exe.old

- in the same folder there should be a file ootp9.exe.manifest: rename it to ootp9.exe.manifest.old

- there should also be a folder Microsoft.VC90.CRT, rename it to Microsoft.VC90.CRT.old

- download and open this file:
http://ootpsupport.com/ootp9212/ootp9_pre_XP.zip
If it doesn't exist, download it from here:
http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/ootp9_pre_XP.zip

- the downloaded file contains a file ootp9.exe - copy it into the OOTP program directory

Start OOTP.
