Game crashing after season is over
Problem Description
Version: 9.2.11 PC/MAC: PC (XP) What were you doing? Advancing to the next day What happened? Game crashes every time a league's season completes. It started with the minor leagues crashing so I deleted those leagues. But it even happens to the MLB league once the world series completes and the off season begins. This was happening with version that was released prior to 9.2.11 also. Reproducible? Yes I uploaded the saved game dat files under my user name "jeffsu28" to the support ftp site. Edit: I wanted to add that facegen has been disabled in my troubleshooting of the problem. Last edited by jeffsu28; 12-22-2008 at 08:54 PM. |

I am just wondering if this game crash is being looked at. Is there any error log that gets created? Is there any more info needed that will assist in trying to discover what is crashing the game and if there is a way to fix it?
Thanks! |

Did you try reinstalling OOTP to see if that helps? If not, could you try creating a small fictional league and simming it ahead to the end of the season to determine if it will crash as well?

Yes, I uninstalled OOTP 9.2.7 (i think that was the version) and installed 9.2.11.
I created the game from a Template that I created. I created the template from the MLB Quick Start - released and then deleted all players, made some minor tweaks such as using this schedule (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post2590491). Created new players and saved this as the template. I then created the league from the template. I just tried using the template again and created a new league from it and it does crash in the same time (I think it was early September - around the time when one of the rookie leagues season ended). |

Other than that, try a normal fictional league to make sure that that works. Try your original template idea without the schedule change. Try to narrow down which of your "tweaks" might be causing the conflict. |

So I take it there is probably no way to somehow continue my saved game though?

I uploaded the game dat files so someone could look at it in hopes of fixing whatever error caused the game to crash.
Again, I used the MLB Quickstart used a different schedule saved this as a template. If this causes the game to crash why is available in the game? It is quite frustrating to play and document transactions that were made just to find out there is some error down the road. |

The one time I had this happen, it was due to the faces.dat file being corrupted somehow. It was the exact same thing, where the league would crash trying to save it. There's workarounds for that though.

Have you tried deleting the faces.dat file and then continuing the game?
