How do you make a fictional league with historical players?

What I did was create a historic league, to get the players into the game. Then, under advanced setup, add a fictional league. I started the game in commish mode, deleted all of the fictional players, reassigned the historic players to the fictional teams, and then deleted the historic league. Then I cleared all the rosters and held an innagural draft. It is time consumming, but it worked.

You could also start a historic league, then just edit the team names and locations, rules, financials, etc.
