Longest Dynasty?

I just simmed 150 year test league just to look over some stats, records, ect.

The longest streak of sinning the world series was three and i only happened once. There were several back to back but it would have been nice to see a team that won 4-5 in a row or like 6 out of 10 years... what's the longest dynasty you've seen?

The most championships I have won in a row was 4 with the same team. The way I play is after I make a powerhouse team i'll take over a bad team and try to take it to the top. So i'm sure if I had stayed with my powerhouse team I would have won alot more. Also the longest league I have ever played with was 57 years. After about 50 years I started losing interest because I got sick of seeing relievers start games instead of being relievers.

probability of 4+ consecutive championships is extremely low in the era of free agency and 30 team leagues.

but you would think in 150 years you would see a 4+ or like I said - maybe a 6 out of 10 deal...

I've simmed 123 years (for stats - I haven't managed a team) starting with the out-of-the-box 2008 MLB roster set, and the period of greatest prosperity for one team came for the Texas Rangers between 2015 and 2023. In those 9 seasons Texas made the World Series 6 times, winning 4.

No team has won 3 in a row.

Colorado made 3 in a row from 2014-16 but lost all 3 (2 to Texas).

The Yankees won 3 out of 4 from 2086-89, and Minnesota did the same from 2123-26.

Oakland went 4 times in 6 years (2097-2102) but only won twice.

Currently, Minnesota is having a run of being in 10 of the last 23 World Series (winning 7), with the most productive streaks being the 3-out-of-4 (2123-26) mentioned above, along with winning 4 (and losing 1) out of 7 from 2120-26.

The Yankees have won the most World Series in the 123 year span 2008-2130, with 11. Arizona has 10.

Two teams have not won the series in those 123 years: Kansas City (made playoffs 24 times, only made the series once, in 2067, currently in 145-year drought since last WS win in [real-life] 1985) and Tampa Bay (made playoffs 22 times, made the series 4 times, but no World Championships in 132-year history).

Houston has only won once, in 2104, ending 142-year drought since their inception in 1962.

The St. Louis Cardinals also only won once, in 2043, and are currently in an 87-year drought.

The Chicago Cubs have actually won the series 5 times, and the first was in 2024, ending their current real-life drought at 116 years.

If you want to see more dynasties and powerhouses over time, reverse the draft order. Reward the team winning the World Series with the #1 draft pick, the WS loser #2 pick, etc., the better the team finishes during the season - the higher their draft pick. Reward teams for playing well, not vise-versa.

Another option, is to give cash rewards to teams based on performance. The WS Winner gets a $5m or $10m bonus or something along those lines.

From 1969 to 1981 in my league. Not a single team had won 2 consecutive world series but San Diego made the final 5 times (75-77-79-80-81) but lost every time. By the way the AL had won a lot more World Series in my league (10 in 13 years). My league was started in 69 with the real rooster and I've made the playoff only one time with my Expos (1978).

I've won 3 in a row and 4 of 5 (lost in the WS in the other year) in the 5 seasons of my league.

Now, I'm playing with free agency off and my team was laden with veteran stars, so I know I'm going to pay the piper soon......

And I've played the same team in 3 out of those 5 WS appearances, so there's a mini-dynasty in the other subleague too.

I started my UABL in 1910. I'm currently on 2004. The longest dynasty was the New York Metros who made five consecutive trips to the WS from 1928-1932, and won the middle three in a row, the only team in the leagues history to do so. They made four consecutive trips again from 1946-1949, but won only in 1949 and were the last team to have back to back wins in 1990 and 1991.

Other than that, Chicago is the only team to go to the WS four times in a row (they accomplished that feat twice overall, though they never won more than twice consecutively). There are a number or teams that made three consecutive trips as well. But no one touches New York's dominance in the 20's-30's.

What ive done in the past to make things competitive is when I win a championship I move on to whatever team had the worse record that year until they win a championship then move on to the team with the worse record that year... etc... until I have played with all 30 teams

It's pretty awesome how everyone's had such different experiences with the same game, the more things I see like this the more impressed I become. This may be one of the top 2 or 3 sports games ever made.In my mind it is the best but there are other games I haven't played like football manager.

I just hit the 60 year mark in a league where I won the world series 30 times. The league started with 16 teams and now has 32. I've won the last four and counting with 32 teams. Normally I would've switched teams to enhance the challenge, but I was curious how much I could dominate if I stuck with the same team.

In a previous solo league I was running the Brooklyn Dodgers made it to the World Series SIX times in a row ... and lost each time.

1919 Yankees d Dodgers 5-4
1920 Red Sox d Dodgers 5-3
1921 Red Sox d Dodgers 5-1
1922 Red Sox d Dodgers 5-1
1923 White Sox d Dodgers 5-4
1924 White Sox d Dodgers 5-2

Beat that.

I have a solo dynasty beta I'm tweaking...six leagues, 12 teams each (like Hardball Heroes, to a degree). In one of my runs (100 years), The Brooklyn Brown Bombers won SIXTY NL titles...30 overall league championships.

I'm still trying to get the right settings and whatnot. But between then, Cleveland and Washington...wow.

In a then-32 team league, I had a team win a championship 8 years in a row. I've since rarely even came close to half that. A lot of people change teams after the win the championship, for me the challenge is to keep them rolling after the 1st.

In OOTP5 I had a 32 team universe. I built a powerhouse that won 13 straight division titles, 6 out of 13 WS, losing 3 others. I was so cocky I did what you did - quit and went to a loser.

On the good side, I then built the crappiest team in the league into a WS contender after 3 years. But on the bad side, my previous dynasty, DESPITE the fact I ripped away some good talent via trades, got BETTER after I left and won 5 in a row after I left (making it 6 in a row counting the one I got in my last year there). I had left it with a stacked minor league organization and it just kept producing more stars, some were guys I hadn't been too impressed with earlier. It beat me 3 times in the WS before I finally won one with my new team.

It taught me that I was great as a GM supplying talent, but the AI was a better chooser of which guys to play the most.

In my Michigan-Ohio Baseball League (old write up for years 1940-1944 in the dynasty forums), the Kalamazoo team has won the first 6 years in the league's existence and are in the finals to make it 7 in a row. Of course, financials are turned off and there are only 16 teams, but still, they are the epitome of a powerhouse.
