Question for 1930-era simmers?

In 1932, the Brooklyn Robins changed their name to the Brooklyn Dodgers. I tried to set up everything to be historic, including expansion, etc.

Will the game make the team name change automatically?

If not, will it mess up anything if I manually edited the team name? I want to maintain the Brooklyn Robins team franchise history and that of its GM.

I'm pretty sure that the historical database is looking for files something like BRO and the change makes no difference.

What do you advise on sticking with history as closely as possible?

The team name change will happen automaticly and will integrate seamlessly.I'm also trying to play through history as accurately as possible,I started in 1905(check my sig) I have the game set up like this

Free Agency/arbitration-Off
Draft-Off(players enter with original team)
Players retire according to history-On
Recalc-3 year with the current year's stats doubled
Financials-On with attendance figures adjusted to historicaly correct levels
Expansion/movement/name changes-all according to history
Rules and strategy-all set to change according to history
AI trading options-Frequency-average- difficulty-hard preference-heavily favor prospects
Injuries -on set to normal

I find these settings to be perfect for what I set out to accomplish.A realistic representation of Major League Baseball at that particular time with the good teams/players good and the bad teams/players bad. Also the league batting averages, runs per game,ERA were all pretty spot on.Its been great so far

Thanks for these. I used to play historicals, but kind of drifted away. Time to try them again. What do your league totals look like? What about minors and ghost players?

I don't use minors at all because the players enter the game in their first major league season,I didn't see the point. As far as league totals, here they are

1905 OOTP League totals

A.L. batting avg .244//ERA 2.51
N.L batting average .245 // ERA 2.60

American League leaders

BA- George Stone- .325
HR- Harry Davis -10
RBI -Danny Murphy- 77
Runs -Danny Hoffman- 95
Wins-Jesse Tannehill -25
ERA -Cy Young- 1.74
Strikeouts -Rube Waddell- 303

National League Leaders

BA-Honus Wagner -.327
HR-Mike Donlin-14
RBI-Mike Donlin-82
Runs-Roy Thomas-100
Wins-Jake Weimer-25
ERA-Frank Corridon-1.97
Strikeouts-Red Ames-273

The White Sox(99-55) defeatd the Cubs(92-62) in an all Chicago World Series 4 games to 2. In the regular season, the White Sox held off the Athletics(95-59) by four games while the Cubs defeated the Giants(89-65) by 3 games. As a side note, the Cubs and Giants were tied at 89-62 with 3 games left to play, the Cubs swept the Pirates(2 games) and Cards(1 game) while the Giants got swept by the Phillies. The Giants collapse cost their manager John McGraw his job,he's now a pitching coach with Detroit.Oh another thing,if you decide to do this and free agency/arbitration is turned off, make sure you change the attendance figures on the rules screen to the real life attendance numbers which you can obtain from baseball-reference.com otherwise almost all of the teams will lose money.I'll be happy to help if you have any more questions

The name change did not occur as expected.

First, what setting influences this? I've got everything set for historical that I know of.

Second, what happens if I manually rename the team? Am I going to mess up franchise history and GM history files?
