Personal Messages- What do you do when you get them?

What do you guys do when you get personal messages from your players? Do you guys try to do what the player wants to make them happy, if you can see atleast giving it a try? Or do you stick with how you had things and risk them getting mad... and if they get mad will they play bad the rest of the season? Or do you trade them off since they will probably play bad rest of the season

I also noticed in my first Draft pool... only 31 players have a Potential Overall rating over 30 or more.... does this mean normally other than the 1st round no one turns out to be any good? Or are some drafts weaker than others of course I imagine.

This is one of the most hotly debated topics in OOTP, does morale actually affect performance?

And I'm pretty sure the answer is "probably".

I haven't had much experience with unhappy players, at least in my starting lineup, so I've just dumped the unhappy players either through DFA, outright release, or trade depending on talent. Of course, these guys weren't good to begin with....

And winning seems to cure all ills.

This means that they're less likely to be any good.

Doesn't mean that a few of them won't come out of nowhere and end up being All-Stars.

It depends what you have your talent randomness set at. I've noticed with the default setting of 100 I get a lot of late round picks that get talent bumps. My league just had a 13th round draft pick go to HOF with over 350 wins. I usually set talent randomness around 35 to prevent as many talent drops, but still get a few talent increases.

The main problem I have with the player morale system is that just about every good reliever eventually starts to whine over the closer role.

Or a hitter in AAA batting .180, or a pitcher in AAA with a 6.00 ERA, whining that they should be playing in the majors.
