Importing High Heat universe to ootp
I'm a member of a sim league that has completed two seasons using High Heat as a sim engine. While High Heat is a fine product, it leaves something to be desired as a league management tool, and we're attempting to shift over to OOTP4.
A number of our owners, however, object to re-starting the league and losing the work they've put in. Many franchises would lose key players who had been created by HH, and would not exist in the ootp universe. It seems to me that if we could create a spreadsheet for our HH universe that mimics the Lahman database, we could import it into OOTP4 and everything would be cool. Has anyone else tried something like this? What Lahman categories are critical and which could be skipped? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who could shed any light on this stuff. |

You probably need to d/l the Lahman database and take a look at it. Also, try to look a few days back in several forums as there is another topic similar to this one already.

Being the stubborn jackass that I am, I'm still trying to figure out a way to make this work. The closest thing I have going to an idea now is to generate an ootp universe, match the ootp minor leaguers to their HH counterparts as closely as possible, then change the names to match.
My question is: is there a way to generate a spreadsheet of all players in an ootp universe along with their ratings? If I could get an Excel database of this, along with a similar one of players in the old HH universe, it would make the matching process much easier. So can such a spreadshet be generated? |

Using the Lahman Database format should work...
See some more discussion here: http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=17321 http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=17228 You can make spreadsheet reports of OOTP data with either the ORG (OOTP Report Generator) or the Updated CSV Reporter. They are available here: http://www.ootplanet.com/downloads/p...bededeceb6951e |
