Step by step import of schedule?

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have a fictional league running with 20 teams in each league and 4 divisions of 5 with division winners plus 4 wildcard spots going through to each post season. I have played every game out for three seasons now but am very frustrated at the lack of schedule!.

Basically I don't know how to do it, I have downloaded a schedule which allows interleague play and hopefully an unbalanced schedule, but at the end of each season after I have imported it it goes back to wht it was.

Please someone help I have just finished season three and have been playing it solidly in my days off (much to the anger of my Mrs!). I am scared to continue though coz I really want an MLB type schedule.

Please somebody spoon feed me!

Not doing this with the game in front of me, but here goes anyway...

Save the schedule file on your computer (unzipping first if necessary). Preferably save it to the Schedules folder in the game's directory hierarchy, which I want to say on a PC is probably somewhere in an OOTP folder under My Documents.

Import of a schedule can only be done during preseason. Go under the Game tab at top, select Game Setup, choose the League Setup tab, then under the Functions tab in the Editors section select the Edit League Schedule button. From the Schedule Editor screen select the Schedule... tab in the bottom right and choose Import from File. Find the schedule file you saved and want to use and select it. If the game gives you an error on that, come back and ask about the error it tells you.

Single schedules get "rearranged" from one year to the next, so the layout is maintained but the matchups will vary. The rearrangement involves random switching within each division of the teams in each schedule slot. The next year, everywhere in the schedule that Division1Team1 was, Division1Team? will then be, where ? means any other team or possibly even the same team.

There's another trick to be aware of:

If you name your schedule file so that it matches your league name, and provided the key scheduling criteria match between the league setup and the schedule file (e.g. balanced yes/no, interleague yes/no, number of games, league size and alignment), when you create the league that schedule file will be loaded automatically.

This is useful if you prefer to create or otherwise have available the schedule files for your league first before starting your league creation.

Incidentally, when first creating a league, the game checks to see if there are any matching schedule files in the schedules folder. If there is one, then OOTP will load it automatically. If the game cannot find an existing schedule file which matches the league's criteria, then it will generate a schedule from scratch.
