BZ 1764: Where did all the players go?

I imported an old league from OOTP6 to OOTP8. I played one season then upgraded to OOTP9. I just got finished with another season and things ran smoothly -- until the day after the World Series.

When I went into off-season mode, the game seemed to freak out. I click on my team and all the players are gone except for two. I shut the game down (even restarted the computer). I brought the game back up, it seemed OK. But then I went into the team screen, the players disappeared again.

what gives?

I should note that all the teams seem to have lost their players ... some of my guys that shouldn't be free agents are now free agents ...

I click on my team and it says "you cannot control this team" ...

Houston we have A LOT of problems...

one other note: it seems my roster is OK when I access it through the manager's screen. but when i select my team through the drop-down menu, it shows that I have just two players ... the AI has suddenly chosen/signed all my vacant coaching spots for me as well ...

i really don't want to lose this league as my last backup is a season behind ...

could you zip up your .dat files from your league and FTP them up to the website as per the instructions in the How To FTP Files to Us thread and we'll get Markus or Andreas to have a looksy at it.

What were you doing? I advanced to the off-season after the World Series, and suddenly all of the players on my team (and the other teams) disappeared, many but not all ending up as free agents (including a lot who shouldn't be) ... I disabled face-gen and advanced one day to see if maybe it would correct itself but instead the AI started signing players for my team (it signed two) as well as coaches ...
Problem occurs with other leagues? Haven't run across it yet ... I do have a backup for this league from about mid-season the same year. I can zip you guys that file if you want as well for comparison purposes...

Thanks for any help you can provide -- this is my "Andrew Zarzour" dynasty league ... I'd hate to have to restart the whole season over ...

Not to be a pain, but just curious how long it will be before someone can look at this ... i guess i'm eager to know the diagnosis: Will the patient live or die? Thanks...

I just noticed last night that the last patch has made it so I can't see my minor league players except through the manager screen. The players are there, just not visible either through the transactions screen or in the actual teams page.

Oddly I can see the minors players for all other teams.

Are you the manager in control or are you in God mode, ie running it as commish?

I am the manager but I tried it both ways, with and without commish mode.

I'm sorry, but I haven't heard anything regarding this matter to date. I'll let you know as soon as I do. It is logged as a high priority.

One thing I discovered is that when I move a player from one level to another he reappears in the minors on all screens.
