Newbie Question: How do you set the manager to coach the games automatically

How do you fix it so that the computer coaches the game only and not bother the make any changes on the roster/depth chart screens when I am not in game mode.

Your question is a bit confusing. If you want to have your manager choose your lineups and pitching staff, go to Manager, Options, Team Control Settings. Choose him for Setting Lineups/Depth/Pitching Staff and leave yourself for all the rest (or delegate other things as you wish).

I think, though, you are talking about managing the games themselves. If you want to have your manager in charge of the ballclub during game play (which he will be anyway if you do not play out your games), then there is an Options & Preview page when you first start a game (it becomes an Options tab during the game) where you can delegate in-game control to your manager as well. Settings can be changed during the game as you see fit.

The Team Control section on the Manager Options screen lets you set who controls each type of transaction. By default they are all set to the human manager, if you want the computer manager to handle any of them just select him in the drop down.

This link will take you to the section of the manual that describes this

I apologize for that Yankees, after I read the post I was confused. I just want the manager to coach games only. When I start the game I have to change all of the options to computer control for my major league team. I don't have to do that with my minor league team. I want to take care of anything that doesn't take place on the day of the game.
