2008 Opening Day Rosters? (OOTP 6.5)

Since it won't let me post in the mods forum, I figure I'd ask around here.

I've seen leagues for OOTP 6.5 open with 2008 rosters, ran by people who have asked for the rosters. Don't leave ALL of us in the dark, where did you people get the 2008 rosters? I don't care what I gotta do to get'em, I just want'em so I can relaunch my league. Plus, I'd be willing to put the rosters up for download somewhere so that nobody is left in the dark without any updated rosters.

I'm not expecting any answers since apparently nobody checks this area of the forums anymore...but it'd be great if someone would divulge where they got them, and if possible, either put them someplace where everyone can get them and use, or send'em to me so that I can upload them myself. Not trying to sound nasty or anything, I'm just a bit frustrated that I haven't been able to find a set for a few months now.

Thanks in advance.

All sim baseball (All Sim Baseball) has a roster set as of mid-December 2006

There was some rumor that Simleaguecentral.com :: Don't Just Play the Game.....Be the Game (News) might have something but it requires regerstering and stuff so don't know.

Checked Simleaguecentral.com, no dice. Forums don't look like they've been visited in over a year.

Looks like I, like anyone else looking for this, are as usual SOL. No surprise to me that people who I've seen open leagues with a 2008 Rosterset do not wish to help out the rest of the community.

Good luck buddy

I'm sure my GM's can wait a month...and if not, I'll whip them

Also, I would hope nobody craps on it because we've wanted one for awhile. If you need a little help with them (ratings and such), lemme know

Do you have AIM? Maybe while I am doing other things you could update player vitals, contracts etc?

So far I named the AAA, AA, A club names as well as opening day managers. I am also filling in the minor leagues with fictional players renamed to real minor league players.

Then the vitals (age, birthplace, bats, throws, etc), & contracts need to be done.

Then rerating minor and major league players.

I have all the triple AAA data

Same as my name on here.

If I can find a site that has opening day roster lists, we'll be in business.

I'd be interested in helping with this project. I just can't get into OOTP 9.

I should have a set complete a week or two after CubbyFan completes the update for OOTP9. I've found a way to manipulate the CSV files.

Even better, as this is very tedious!

What is important to you guys?

I'm able to get 2008 rosters with accurate stats through 2007.

Do you guys want full minor leagues? Maxing at 25 players per level.

Or just the Top 50 or so prospects for each team?

If I remember correctly the game doesn't do well with full minor leaguers.

Anyone know where I can find opening day 2008 40 man rosters?

id say maybe just top 10 or so prospects for each team, maybe even top 5 then the rest could be fictional or something along those lines. Thats just my 2 cents.

And im sure you can find 40man rosters on mlb.com and go to each teams page.

Problem with the 40-man rosters on mlb.com is they are current not opening day.

Ok, I'm using the community roster as a reference for this. It seems to be going well.

My goal is to have any players that is playing in professional baseball that has played in the majors in the file. So far it is going pretty well.

Step 1 is to move players to current teams.
Step 2 is to import players not in current file.
Step 3 is to create players whom made a debut this year.
Step 4 is to create Top 10 prospects for each team.
Step 5 is to rerate all ML players based on the last 3 years, weight 60% (2008), 30% (2007), and 10% (2006).
Step 6 is to ensure accurate contracts.

If anyone is interested in helping with Step 5 let me know, I am creating an excel spreadsheet to calculate my entries.

You're doing us a great service, Balldog. I give you massive props

When it's done, do you have any webspace to upload it to? If not, lemme know. I could put it someplace for everyone to grab.
