Question about Add-Ons

2 days ago I finally updated the game with the patch and started a new leauge. I also used the AddOn Central in the game to install both the 'Updated Major League roster set' and the '2008 All-In One Mod for current League'. Other than renaming the PlayOff Rounds I did not make any other changes to the game setup...unless I made some by mistake and didn't notice it.

And now that I played into my third season I can definitely say something is wrong with my game and here is why:

By the second year almost all teams had a negative bank balance and most teams also fired their GM without replacing them. As a result their rosters (some are using 3 Pitcher rotations) others have only 10 players on their active rosters. This leads to all kind of strange stuff like a single season strikeout record (nearly 600 K's) and pitchers starting close to 50 games per season.

On the other hand the draft is overflowing with talent as there are anywhere between 30-40 5* players in the draft.

In short I think I have to start over again and I am just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences using these two AddOns or if I simply mistakenly made a any change to the game setup....

It shouldn't have anything to do with the add-ons. It sounds like, and I don't know precisely since I don't know if you are using the MLB quickstart or not, you need to allow computer-controlled teams to allow roster moves. It's in the Game Setup, league options, functions. That is a fairly common problem that has occured and it results in, for instance, a less than five-man rotation and incomplete rosters.

As for the financial, I don't know.

Hmmm....thanks for the answer, maybe this really was the problem. Is there any way to actually see if an AI cotrolled team is allowed to make roster moves or not?

Anyway if this was the cause of the problem then I am wondering why I did never have to make these changes in my last games prior to using the patch.

I haven't started a game using the MLB rosters on the patch so I'm not sure, however I'm pretty certain there are threads on this board explaining multiple problems with that set including that exact one. If you started your game after patching it and are using MLB rosters, I bet that's it.

There's also an updated MLB quickstart that should correct that issue.
