Talking Patch #2 - Development Report

Hey guys,

I have just coded the new development report which will be introduced in patch #2. You can find it in the team reports section of the team screen.

There are two menus at the top, the first one lets you toggle between current ratings and talent ratings. The second one is for selecting the time frame which the changes represent. Options are: Last report, a report at least 1 year old, a report at least 2 years old, a report at least 3 years old or the first report ever being published on the player.

Used are your team's scouting director reports, or the real ratings when scouting is turned off (these reports are stored once a year).

The list includes the players of the active roster (plus reserves if minors disabled) broken down by hitters & pitchers, as well as minor league teams if you have affiliations. The list is sorted by position & alphabetically.

First example:
Here you can see how the actual ratings of the San Diego hitters developed the past 3 years. LF Scott Roberts for example really developed into a quality player in the past 3 seasons

Second Example:
This list shows the development of the potential ratings since the first report of a player was issued, which is usually the time they enter the amateur draft pool. SS Terry Bates for example turned from crap into a player with above average offensive potential since being drafted, while poor LF Joe Hinton saw his potential drop from all-star leadoff hitter to barely a 4th outfielder. CF Alberto Madrigal meanwhile maintained his stardom potential for the entire 7 years he is in the league.

Third Example:
Here we see the development of current ratings for pitchers in the past 3 years...

I hope you like this

Cheers,
Markus

Looks good, one question.....

Can it be split into just viewing each position or is it only batters and pitchers.

Would be good if you could split it down to see each position as well.

are the columns sortable? makes it easier to just look at each position as a group, plus would be awesome to see who's had the biggest gain or loss in each category during that time frame

I don't see a drop down at the top to toggle between OSA and my scouting director. Does that mean these ratings are real?

Does this mean the Hartford Whalers theme song FINALLY made it into OOTP!?

Such a great piece of music cannot be denied!

What happens if you've changed scouts in the last year, 3 years, etc?

Now I have a dilemma... I play with ratings only 1-5 because it makes the game harder. Should I change? I like this report but I'm not going to see much movement for my players with it when I have ratings on 1-5. But I guess it will still show a major trend if it happens. Its a great addition!

The reports of the past scouts are automatically stored and used in this report.

OSA is only used when scouts are off, since then OSA has the real ratings. When scouting is enabled, the ratings you see are from your current scouting director, as well as past scouting directors.
