Independence Day

Markus,

2.5 years ago I discovered OOTP 6.5 and ever since this I declared independence from Console baseball games and now I am gladly totally dependent on OOTP.

Additionally, last year at this time my wife was sleeping in the hospital and would give birth to our daughter at 6:31 am on July 3rd. I stayed by her side unable to relax or sleep and I got in a few games of OOTP before she woke up and went into labor.

Completely agree. My career is in the video game industry and I don't even touch the other games. I try to explain why this game is better than anything you will buy but no one gets the concept.

You really should ensure your wife NEVER, EVER, EVER sees this thread.

Hey, it's a great way to kill time. I was sitting at the back of a conference room just before a big important meeting once with my laptop fired up. Everyone thought I was working on Powerpoint or Excel. Nope, it was OOTP.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I could never do that since I get pissed when a guy strikes out who should not or I hit a huge home run in a game. Ya I am a loser! lol

The best ever

The ultimate for me was when I migrated my 6.5 fictional league of 35 seasons to 9.2 and I found myself thinking as I played out games in the new environment that this was a pretty realistic simulation of "real" baseball, "real" meaning the world of 6.5!!! My 6.5 fictional league is my real baseball world now. How did that happen?

I know what you mean. None of my friends can understand why I play OOTP all the time vs console games. I'm like "This is the most in depth game there is", and they're like "But you don't play any of the games", me, "That's not the point, it's better then console games and totaly customizable", them "But you don't play any of the games".......and then I take out my stabbing knife..........

Ha, Ha....No, her name is Hope. I have threatened that if we ever have a boy I would name him Roberto after my favorite throwback player Roberto Clemente even though we are both American. Also, on the table for first names is Gibson, Musial, McGee, and Tommy Herr. Those are just my baseball names, I also favor Watson or Crick.

Needless to say my wife responds with the eye roll.
