Help Me Start My Illinois Baseball Association

Fictional teams ... real players ... starting in 1901.

I want to create a 16-team league, but instead of the actual players from 1901 going to their original teams, they will be dumped into an inaugaral draft. I'm creating my own Illinois-based team names, and then plan to auto-draft the players to these teams.

I will also edit financials.

What would be the best sequence of steps to set this up? What template or start do I use? At what point in the process do I bring in the players? At what point in the process do I create the teams?

Mucho thanks for any help.

I'd Start by creating a historical league starting in 1901, then change all the team names, then do the inaugral draft and then edit financials.

Here's the problem I'm running into ...

I want 1901's historical players to come into my league, but I want to create 2 leagues with 2 4-team divisions in each league. Not the historical structure of 2 8-team leagues without divisions.

When I use the historical setup, I don't see any option to edit the structure of the league.

How can I accomplish what I want to do?

League Setup - Functions - Edit League Structure

Must be done during pre season.

Don't forget to generate a new schedule afterwords.
