Okay you recalc junkies
Answer me this:
If I use 3 year recalc, when the game runs out of stats for the player, does the game's player development system take over? Or is that player forever stuck in Single A ball? |

The player development system takes over.

I suggest using 3-yr recalc with Retire Players According To History enabled to get the most realistic results out of your historical simulations.
