park adjusted ?? Resutling in Foul Out ??

I was wondering when looking at ball animation and stuff...

Will ballpark like McAfee and Yankee Stadium produce more foul outs than "tighter" ballpark.

Looking at a game at those parks players can cover a lot of ground to get foul balls. This will affect the game.
In my book of realism there should be a lot more Foul Outs but I havenīt played enough to know how the effects are.

Have someone a better accurate answer on this ??

I should hope so.

Go to Oakland, and look at their foul territory. It is HUGE.

This should absolutely result in more outs, and a lower team batting average.

I really doubt that this is reflected in the game. Nowhere do you record the dimensions of foul territory like you do other stadium dimensions, and the placement of the batted ball locations has nothing to do with it - you could put those in the stands and the animated ball would travel there for infield pops. It's a good question and I am willing to stand corrected, but I don't think anybody can argue with this.

I fear that it is so. Thatīs why I brought it up. It do add hugely to the game and with all neutralized and park-adjusted stat talk this must pop up somewhere in the forum.

If it isnīt (which I doubt) it should be something for the future. I remember the old very nice TonyLaRussa had adjustments for this in the last versions.
After all balls carrying over the Monster at Fenway or bouncing back from the huge wall must one way or the other be calculated. Why then have wall heights and distances in park.dat file. Foul territory in one way or other should be another math calc ....
Nothing that is perfect couldnīt get better like OOTP.

Wait for the next version suggestion threads to open up again, then have a go.

Don't you suppose this is already factored in to the park settings? Maybe it won't actually factor into the gameplay as a foul ball out, but rather just as the park's overall batting average?

You have a valid point here. It SHOULD be factored in already.
