Player Status Details Question

The one morale player status detail that I don't understand is `player performance'. To me, this would mean how the player views his own performance compared to how he wishes he was doing.

So, ie; if he was playing below his potential, I would expect this rating to show unhappy. If he is playing above his potential, I would expect this rating to show happiness.

But what I've found is that players that are on a hitting streak, and get awarded player of the week, for example, sometimes have a very unhappy `player performance' rating.

Can someone explain how this really works?
