Deleting league's players/Creating weaker calibre leagues

I have imported my 20 team fictional league into OOTP and I'm looking to create a new league using the wizard to join this baseball universe.

I want the new players I create to play in this league to be overall of a lower calibre than the ones in my existing league, but I'm not sure how to do this from within the wizard as you don't seem to have access to the player creation modifiers BEFORE all the players are created in a draft pool when making a new league ... So my question is when adding a new league to an existing baseball universe, what's the best way to be able to impact how they will be created/their modifiers, so you can make a different calibre league?

Second question is, If I create a league that I don't like/want for any reason, is there any easy way to delete all their players? I see where you can delete the league itself, but that just seems to throw all the players from the league into the FA pool .. What else can be done?

Bump - anyone?

One workaround I've thought of is to edit the settings for a single year then select that as my import year?

Would that work, how would I go about permanently or temporarily changing the settings of the player creation modifiers for a single year?

I'm not sure how to answer your real question, but you can edit the player creation modifiers (PCMs) via the league setup screen then the strategy tab.

1 = normal (for whatever settings you're using), <1 = worse, >1 = better.

You'll have to look at the manual (or hope someone else replies with an explanation) for the difference between traditional PCMs and sabremetric PCMs as I've forgotten myself.

Yes I know all that, my only question then is how do I modify these BEFORE the initial draft pool is created when making a new league, so that the players created reflect the weakened player creation modifiers I wish to put in place.

You can do it before setting up the league in the advanced mode of league creation.

I was attempting to add a league in my already-created universe and it seems that the "Advanced Mode" button is disabled. I searched the forum and found only one record from a previous version that this is always disabled in existing universes.

Can someone explain why this is so? You can't uncreate the players, nor can you delete them (or if you could, I'd love to know how).

I see many references in signature lines to "add a mass-select option" which would seem to be a prerequisite for this functionality.

Lol, I see that sig line a lot as well. I forget who has it, but the suggestion has already been made and a ticket has been created for it.

Hopefully the devs will add that option in OOTP 10.

As for the original question: Only thing I can think of is doing what theasfl suggested: use the PCMs and SPCMs. Look up in the manual, cuz I know it is in there. I just read over it the other day. lol.

Not sure about how to create them weaker, but can't you create your new league, release all players to FA, then delete all FA? Then set your PCMs and fill rosters with fictional players?

Ripwalk, maybe you can do a variation on something like what SteveP did. In your case, create your new - presumably Major - league, but don't add players. Also add a minor league (AAA, AA, or A, depending on how much lower you want the talent level), and DO add players, and then let the AI fill the Major League rosters with the talent that's available (the minor leaguers). Then delete the minor league if you don't want it... In SteveP's case, he wanted AAA filled with AA-type, etc., but you get the idea...

Here's the thread that explains it: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...layers-ml.html

Just an idea that I think might apply to your issue. Hope this helps.
