The game seems to be much more uncompromising in terms of gameplay. The AI is kicking my but and destroying my pitching staff.

Its over-all a better stronger game.

Markus, may I please request that you seperate fan loyalty from market size right after the initial draft? Giving those teams both a small market and dubious fans makes them into almost permanent second class citizens. IMO, fan loyalty should be random at game creation.

OK, that is an easy change... I'll discuss this with the beta team

Still discovering the new stuff (is there a complete list of the new stuff somewhere?).

Really dig the new look, love that sound is back, and really like the ball flight animation. I also like all the new info in the front office section.

Very happy with it so far.

I was leading a game 1-0, 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and their big power hitter was up so I walked him, and the AI went and put a Pinch Runner in who stole 2nd, then stole 3rd and scored on a single.

In v8 I could have guaranteed leaving power bloke at first as he had no speed.

I think when I wake up I need to break out the cricket-ish league for a break before I start checking the board again.

Are you running on Vista? If so, have you run as Administrator?

Do you get anything appearing when you click the icon?

Ahhh...very glad you gave us the ability to view all players in the organization from the roster screen. Man....I missed that from the pre-200x days.

I of course like new features...but I put more stock in how do I feel when I'm playing the game. In the past, there has always been that feeling of cool I like this new feature but the game fights me in terms of getting things done when I play it, something that I never felt in version 3 thru 6.5.

OOTP 9 has those "sweet...I love that new feature" and it also has the smooth "feeling" where I don't feel like I have to fight the game to manage my organization (at least so far).

So far the only things I've come across that are negative are fairly minor.

In the Webcast screen -

Any player green player rating is very difficult to read.

On my laptop at 1280 X 800, the team info stats get cut off by the bottom edge of the window (again in the Webcase screen).

That's really the only things I've come across that were remotely negative so far.

Get Avast. It's rated better anyway.

(I did research and made the switch last night after the AVG problem cropped up. Avast is rated better at doing its job anyway. And this is coming from a former AVG fanboy of many years.)

I've used mcaffee, norton, avast over the last ten years....of those....Avast is my favorite. It works great...and doesn't cause any problems with my system or programs...and for the most part I don't even notice till one of its scanners alerts me with a threat.

The game keeps crashing when I try importing a league from OOTP8. It was time to move on but it still bugs me a bit.

To be honest I haven't had a chance to even play. Trying to start a new league and sim a few seasons.
