Question for the Beta Testers

I've often wondered something and, since its a really, really, slow day in the office, I thought i could kill another two minutes and post it :-

Do you guys, as beta testers, get the same launch day buzz as everyone else, considering that you've already played the game to death throughout the process?

I know I do. There's a lot of enjoyment seeing other people enjoy the hard work. I'm sure its the same for Markus too.

It's days like today that make up for all the work that I have put in with over the last 5 months. If I billed Markus for labor like my company would bill for my labor, the total would be a sizable portion for a down payment on a house or a full tank of gas.

This is fun stuff, despite the frustrations.

I can't wait for people to see what we've had the pleasure of doing for the longest time. Folks out there are going to be very pleased. I know i am!

This was my first beta experience, but right now I feel like parents who are watching their kids get amped up to open presents.

It's a different kind of buzz. And it is also tempered with a certain sense of relief as we get past the pressure point and can get back down to business again w/ only a better product in mind.

Definitely. I've been beta-testing contracts, which is pretty monotonous. I haven't actually gotten to play the game & put it through its paces until yesterday.

My poor old hard drive has been under the constant strain of creating and deleting leagues. Must have been a couple of hundred biting the dust at various points.

It is kind of weird... when I knew I was on the beta team, I had a thought in the back of my head, "Wow, I'll get to play the game months before I normally would." And you know what? I still haven't actually gotten to play the game. I don't think I've even seen some of the new pages or tried out the new features because I've been examining player development for the last couple of months.

While I know our work isn't over, I kind of hope that habit goes away for a little while and I can enjoy the game without wondering how 22 year old pitchers stuff rating looks on average compared with 21 year olds when put up against Tango curves.

It seems as if I stumbled into a mistake that, I would imagine, many people make, namely that all beta testers get to play the whole game. I didn't realise that people were given specific areas to test for. Makes sense though, when I think about it now.

Three hours and counting guys, until you can see how all your hard work has paid off!

I just want to say thank you to the development team and the beta boys for all the work and labor of love that you put into this wonderful obsession. I am truly grateful.

Add me to the list of appreciated OOTPers. Your hard work allows me the chance to play a game that's top notch. At $24.99 that's .06 cents a day that I pay for the entire year of enjoyment.

Yea actually this release day is more exciting for me then any previous ones by far because I've seen all that has gone into this process. It's like running a race and feeling the excitement when you're coming to the finish line.

Hopefully all beta testers weren't "unit" testing and someone did some serious "intergrated" testing between the areas. Without it, the errors will pile up!

I'm more excited to see community reactions than I am about the game actually being released, since I already know my own opinion of the game.

Yeah, the first time beta testers who think they're done now are so cute.

Well I worked on some text stuff up until 1:30 AM last night in preperation for the release, so I am excited to see the reponses of not only that but the entire game itself. I don't think any other game comes close in terms of the level of detail and the ability to create pretty much any type of league imaginable.

I'd say we roamed around a bit. There weren't turf wars or silos.
