All-Star Game Questions

I'm sort of new - played one of the old versions a few years ago, but haven't kept in touch with it. So while I'm waiting for OOTP 9 to come out tomorrow I'm working on the structure of my fictional league and I've got a few questions maybe a few of you veterans can answer.

I want a single major league with 12 teams (3 divisions of 4 teams each). Now, as far as the All-Star Game, because of the 3-division alignment it obviously doesn't make sense unless there are an even number of divisions or sub-leagues that can face each other in a game. How would the game handle this as far as All-Star voting? It sounds a little messy, so I'm thinking of just not playing the game, however, I would still like players to be given the All-Star designation even thought there's no game. Does anyone know if this is possible? And if so, will the normal complement of 28-30 players for a league be selected?

If this is not possible, I have option 2 - switching to an evenly aligned league and playing the All-Star Game, but in that case I was thinking of holding the All-Star Game after the Championship Series, kind of like the Pro Bowl in the NFL. Can anyone tell me if OOTP 9 will let me schedule the All-Star Game after the season is over? And if it allows that, will the actual "voting" take place at the appropriate time and not in the middle of July?

Hopefully some of you vets have messed around with configurations like this, and any help you could offer would be appreciated.

Just set up a test league with a similar config to your requirements.
it allows you on creation of a fictional league to select for an All Star game. Also is selectable in the Game Setup on day one.
Once you start simmimg the option disappears and no All Star game is scheduled. (Which on the face of it is logical...but I had to test it).
Therefore you won't be able to vote for an All Star game...because there isn't one.By the same token no All Star appearances will be shown on the player's history.
