Standard League Questions

I just have a few questions regarding starting Standard Leagues. I have been reading through the 2008 manual, getting prepared for 9.

When I create one, will all the options available be set for default to reflect MLB rules?
-If not, is there somewhere I can get the suggested options.

Will there be enough feeder teams?

I just want to experience the Major Leagues as close as possible.

Are there any other things I should consider when setting up the lague.

If I just start up a standard league, will all the options that are available be set for MLB rules? I know Markus can't mention MLB in the manual, so I wasn't really sure.
-Will all the Minor League teams be named appropriately?
-Will the Japanese pro league exist?
-Enough feeder teams?
To save typing, I have quoted from your other thread in order to answer, as best as I can, all your questions here.

In the past, it was up to the user to recreate MLB and real world baseball. Yes, the standard league creation wizard gave you the outlines of what you wanted; you could start with "Major American League" which sets up an accurate array of minor leagues, but OOTP did not use any real team names much less their logos, stadiums, etc. The modders of the community were depended upon to provide all that.

With OOTP 8, however, they got a bit more bold. Now, the quickstart that comes with that game has accurate team names all the way down to the minors, correct ballpark names, locations, and dimensions, even team colors. Not logos, though. Players are real, even many in the minors.

You still have to add your own Japanese league (Add Standard League) and supply all of the information and materials for that. Same for feeder leagues (Add Minor League); the quickstart is set for generating players for the amateur draft only.

I'm not the expert on MLB rules and finances that some of the folks here are, but it is my impression that settings are default to reflect 21st Century Major League Baseball. I have not been disappointed in that regard.

They were working on an improved MLB quickstart for OOTP 9; I must wait until game release like everyone else to see how that has changed other than updated rosters.
