"OOTP Baseball 8 has stopped working"

Bought the game a month ago or so. Have enjoyed it a lot with no problems and no real crashes.

But now I can't even get it to start. I double click on the icon to fire it up, and it shows me the start up screen and then crashes while the clock at the bottom of the screen turns ("OOTP Baseball 8 has stopped working"). Not sure what to do, even after trolling around here for awhile.

I know the last time I had the game open I dropped a bunch of photos and ballpark pics into some folders. I've tried discarding all of that stuff but to no avail. Even did a restart of the computer a few times.

I have a graphics card that folks here say is compatible with game. FaceGen has always worked fine. I use Windows Vista and I have "run as administrator" checked.

Thoughts? Any more info folks might need? Thanks a ton -- love the game... just want to play it!!!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? In the process, could you try deleting the OOTP folder in the hidden Application Data folder?

this is what I ended up doing today ... i uninstalled/reinstalled and all seems to be well for now ... hopefully will stay that way...
