Circular Logo Template.
This is in Paintshop Pro format. Hope this helps....
To use simply start with layer 1 and select a color to replace the gray with, then go to layer 2 do the same with the white, then do the same with each layer. You can de-select any layer to give your logo a different look. Last edited by SandMan; 05-23-2012 at 12:07 PM. |

Well I've been playing around with the circular logos and they are coming out great. Truth's little tutorial of how to make them is spot on and really really simple. I just have one question that maybe someone could help me with. The only complaint I have is that when I do 'Arc' on my text, I can't seem to bend it perfectly with the curve of the circle. When I move the bend to 100%, it is close, but still not perfect. Is there anyway in Photoshop to bend the text more beyond the 100% arc? I see alot of circular logos and it looks like the text is perfectly aligned with the curve of the circle. Thanks in advance!!

Try drawing a circle with no color to it and attaching the text to the shape. That's how I bend text into a curve.

You can write text on a path in photoshop, though it's more difficult I think than using the arc tool.
Here is a tutorial on it: Text That Follows a Path Text On A Path in Photoshop CS Put Text on a Path or in a Shape in Photoshop CS |

That's awesome and pretty simple too!! One question though, typing text on a path..will that work with Photoshop 7 as well? I know you can draw paths, but I've never used it before.

Man I just tried making a path to type my text on in Photoshop and it doesn't work in Photoshop 7..must only work with Photoshop CS....GOD THAT SUCKS!!! I was looking forward to getting all the text in my logos right. Anybody know of a way to do it in PHOTOSHOP 7?

For longer names, sometimes you have to make the text smaller to get the name to work in the circle with a decent arc, but not too much arc. You just gotta work it til you get it. It can be tricky, sometimes. Sometimes this is the case with short names too....so saying long names may be misleading.....but the theme still stays the same....you gotta work it, to get it.
**edit** Always remember to make sure your percentages stay the same when maneuvering the text. I'm talking about the height and width for the text. The letters will start to look skewed or just not right, if you don't. Last edited by truthserum; 04-23-2008 at 12:43 AM. |
