Realistic historical player movement?
Was just gonna start a computer-controlled historical league for my own amusement. Going to start in 1901 and sim all the way to the present day. In the past I've noticed that using modern finances doesn't exactly give you a "real" historical feel; seeing Christy Mathewson sit in the FA pool for a year because he's holding out for 13 million dollars doesn't do anything for me.
So, does anyone have a setup that's worked well for them in terms of manipulating the Finances on/off setting, the Trade/Injury frequency, etc, to get a realistic representation of how common trades, free agency, injuries, etc, actually were for the last 100 years of baseball? |

I usually keep finances turned off until the early seventies and trading on the low setting. Works well for me.
