OOTP must close
I re-installed and re-licensed a fresh download of 2007 and I was able to update my online game
. I was going through my player shortlist and decided to unshortlist about half of them. While doing this the game crashed to the desktop (I'm using Vista). When I re-start the game, now every time I click on 'search for player' from the manager's page, the game crashes immediately.Do I have to re-install and re-license again?? |

No, I would try getting a fresh copy of the league first, or maybe just waiting to get the next update following the next sim. Presumably, your players.dat file was damaged. Let us know how that works out.

I was able to update within the game, but it didn't fix the problem. Next try.... get the league file.

It just gets worse. Today, I was updating my online game and just before it finished saving, the computer crashed. Now, the computer crashes everytime I try to start OOTP. I got the league file again and replaced it, so now I can start OOTP, but I still have the original problem: the computer crashes everytime I try player search. I see no choice now but to download a fresh copy of the game.

Did reinstalling the game help you at all?

I'd like to know if this one gets resolved as well, because it sounds almost exactly the same as problems I've had. These crashing problems always start out innocently, and then they just get worse until I have to completely start over.
I have yet to finish a Quickstart season in 2008. It's highly annoying to say the least. |

Sorry, it's been so long, but yes, I was successful in solving the problem. Basically, un-license and un-install everything, and download a fresh copy. Although I wanted to uninstall everything, the game still remembered my license, but that was OK. On my new computer, I also realized that Dell had done a lot of task scheduling, like de-frag the hard drive and virus scans and so forth, and these ongoing processes running while simultaneously trying to update OOTP probably caused some of the problems I was experiencing.

Glad to hear it, bailey.
Chris, if you need further assistance, please post in a new thread and we can try to work through it. Thanks. |
