Park factors

Will someone clarify a question for me if you are certain of your answer:

If park factors are all set the same (eg. 1.000) for each team, are the wall distances and heights purely cosmetic or do they affect the field of play?

They are purely cosmetic....You could have LF 250 feet way, but if the RH HR factor is .500, the ball isn't flying out to left.

Bump. I agree, and I figure this is pretty straight forward even though the manual is a bit vague. If anyone has an opposing viewpoint please post.

I'm pretty sure all the length factors do is to influence the PBP announces as well as determine whether or not it is possible to rob a home run.

I got the above quotes right out of the game manual on pages 200 & 201. If wall height and distance doesn't matter, why does it say it does in the manual? Anyone in the know......know? battist?????

I've always been told the wall lengths are cosmetic, but the heights are not. If you have a 1.000 HR factor with 3000 foot fences, you're gonna have a lot of 3000 foot homeruns.

I think the only difference is that if the fence is over a certain height, the pbp for making a catch over the wall won't happen. Supposedly, anyway. And that's about it.

Well, than manual says the above about wall heights and distances. Is the manual wrong?

Just got a PM back from Markus on this, and below is what he said about it.

This would be entirely possible for parks on the moon.
